After a cold boot, when I launch the new Xbox app I no longer get all the store account warnings I would always get. It seems that launching and signing into the Xbox Console Companion once has fixed my issues with the new Xbox app. When they finally retire this old Xbox app, I think we’re screwed. The 2004 update still says “getting things ready for your PC” and won’t let me download it. Not sure if this matters, but I’m still on the 1909 build of Win10. I didn’t run the old app alongside the new one, after signing into the old app I just launched Carrion from the Start menu. At the title screen, when you press the space bar, you should be good to go. Once signed into the Xbox Console Companion, minimize it, and launch Carrion. You’ll see the same screen to authorize your account that failed when you ran Carrion, but this time it should work. The first screen will say they’re replacing that app with a better one, (the one that’s broken right now). ![]() Launch the old Xbox app, which they have now renamed to “Xbox Console Companion”. At least, not this new one they’re pushing that’s just called Xbox. Every time I sign into it, I get warnings that my store account is being switched to my Xbox account and my store accounts don’t match, even though they’re the exact same account.
